“Sport im Park” enters the next round and attracts visitors with a variety of offers

If you want to use the good summer weather as motivation and do sports outdoors, “Sport im Park” is the right place for you. The offer is valid from June to August.

The popular “Sport in the Park” series enters the next round in the district of Coesfeld and the municipality of Nordkirchen will be there again alongside Billerbeck, Coesfeld, Dülmen, Havixbeck, Nottuln, Rosendahl and Send. From June 13 to August 6, 2022, anyone interested in sports can again take part in a wide range of sports courses – without registration and completely free of charge. This year, the Sport-im-Park courses will take place in the park of the village of Capell.

There is something for everyone

“Sport im Park” is aimed at untrained people and sports enthusiasts of all ages. Everyone is welcome and can participate. The courses are organized by the Kreissportbund Coesfeld and taught by qualified trainers. The training sessions last approximately one hour and take place in all weathers. Please bring leisure or sports clothes, drinks and a towel. There are no toilets, showers or changing rooms.

The program at a glance:

Fascinating training (FC Nordkirchen)

  • Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (June 13/20/27, July 4/25 and August 1)

It’s a quiet hour where Pilates exercises meet yoga asanas and classic workouts that engage the fascia and start with a centering and end with a relaxation exercise. Please bring a mat or blanket, sneakers are not required, socks are welcome.

Fitness gymnastics / Flexibar (SV Südkirchen)

  • Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (June 14/21/28, July 5/12/19/26 and August 2)

After a short warm-up phase, the movements follow one another standing or on the mat. Small devices such as dumbbells, resistance bands and the popular Flexibars are used.

Fitness for children (parent-child gymnastics – 1 to 4 years old, SV Südkirchen)

  • Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (July 13/20/27 and August 3)

Offers movements, playful motor exercises and music fun. Absolute prerequisite: the children must already know how to walk!

Summer Biathlon (SSV Südkirchen)

  • Wednesdays from 5 p.m. (13/06/20 July)

The summer biathlon is a combination of running and shooting. Running requires strength and agility, shooting requires concentration and self-discipline. SSV Südkirchen uses two light guns, hits are displayed electronically. Small arms are not carried during the race.

Full body workout with smovey (SC Capelle)

  • Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (June 22, July 13/6/27 and August 3)

Training with smovey promotes metabolism, massages and relieves the lymphatic system, tightens connective tissue, mobilizes digestion, strengthens the cardiovascular system and strengthens the immune system. 20 pairs of smovey are available. If participants already have smovey, they are invited to bring it with a bottle of water.

Zumba® (SC Capelle)

  • Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. (June 16/23/30 and July 7/14)

Zumba Fitness is a fitness program that combines elements of Latin American dance, upbeat music, and a motivating group atmosphere.

Yoga (SC Capelle)

  • Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (June 23/30 and July 7)

Yoga is one of the oldest systems in the world, uniting body, mind and spirit and promoting personal development. Stress and tension are relieved, the body is kept healthy and charged with energy.
