But someone has the kettle on…
Leipzig boss Oliver Mintzlaff (46) fought well against FC Bayern ahead of the test match between Leipzig and Liverpool. On ServusTV, he explained: “I hope Bayern will come up with other ideas and not always have our players.”
Trigger: Bayern’s interest in Konrad Laimer (25)!
According to information from BILD and SPORT BILD, Munich have made another offer for the midfielder – 23 million euros including bonus. But that’s still not enough for Leipzig. RB is asking for 30 million euros – all at once, without installments.
After Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer, he would be the third most successful player to move from Leipzig to Munich.
Mintzlaff is clear: “Konny is hugely important to our game, so we don’t want to lose him. We sit in the driver’s seat, when we do things, they have to follow our ideas.”
Laimer has been under contract with RB since 2017
The Austrian midfielder’s contract expires next summer. If RB still wants to collect coal, Laimer must be sold this summer. According to Mintzlaff, however, it’s also an option for Laimer to leave on a free transfer in 2023.
RB boss: “It could also be that we keep it and go into a final year of the contract and sometimes we don’t get a fee.”
According to information from BILD, Ösi has long since concluded a contract with Bayern and wants a quick decision so as not to come to Munich in August and unprepared for the new club.
RB has internally set the Supercup next week as the deadline for a decision. RB coach Domenico Tedesco (36) also wants planning security.
Bayern’s reaction? Herbert Hainer (68) smiles at SPORT BILD: “It’s just that a lot of players want to go to Bayern Munich. And if anyone does, we’d love to take a look…”
The Leipzig team lost the test match against Jürgen Klopp’s FC Liverpool 4-0. Laimer came on after 60 minutes. Outstanding man: Liverpool newcomer Darwin Nunez. He scored four goals (48th/51st/68th/89th), superstar Mo Salah scored the first goal (8th).
