Potsdam (dpa / bb) – Having a sense of normalcy again and sitting in restaurants or theaters without restrictions – this has been possible in Brandenburg since Sunday: Further corona requirements have been waived there, but some remain in square. The 3G rule no longer applies in restaurants, theaters and cinemas. The 2G rule in nightclubs, the upper limit at major events and the obligation to wear masks in schools and in commerce have also been lifted.
The FFP2 mask requirement, on the other hand, will continue to apply until at least April 30 for public bus and train journeys and for visits to hospitals, nursing homes, homeless accommodation. and refugees. Last Tuesday, the cabinet decided on basic protection based on the Federal Infection Protection Act.
In view of the still high number of corona infections in the state, Brandenburg’s Minister of Health Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) called on the population to be careful and to protect themselves and others against infection with the virus corona with the known rules of conduct and hygiene.
The infection process is currently dominated by the omicron variant, which is transmitted very easily from person to person, Nonnemacher recalled. “That’s why we all need to continue to be level-headed and, above all, considerate.” This includes the voluntary wearing of FFP2 masks indoors, which provide a high level of protection.
The requirement to test schoolchildren three days a week will remain in place for the time being, with the exception of fully vaccinated and recovered children. Unvaccinated daycare children should be tested two days a week – with home self-tests. Anyone who works in hospitals or nursing homes and is not fully vaccinated or recovered needs a test every working day.
In Brandenburg, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence on Sunday fell slightly to 1049.4 from the previous day. On Saturday it was 1106.3 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, on Friday it was just under 1125. The national value also continued to fall: the RKI gave the value on Sunday morning at 1457.9 (Saturday : 1531, 5).
Federal states may impose additional restrictions for regional hotspots – for example mandatory masks in commerce and access rules. For this, the state parliament must determine a critical situation. According to the SPD, the red-black-green coalition is considering such regulation beyond basic protection, but the three parties are still discussing it.
