Mental health is no longer a suppressed issue like it was a few decades ago. There are things you can do to counter this, like taking medication or changing your life completely.
However, sometimes even small tricks help to fight fears and depressive phases, because the brain works like a muscle and can be trained. Those who constantly suffer from anxiety or depressive thoughts will continue to suffer as if in a spiral. If you try to think positively, you will in turn train your brain in that direction. When things are bad for us, it often helps to broaden our perspective a bit. Look at people who are even worse off than you and be grateful for the little things that work and are good in your life.
