By Aydan Corkern

Have you heard what the magnificent canine species can do now? We have known for centuries how well their sensitive snouts are and they are capable of finding all sorts of things when given a scent to follow. Dogs are used more and more all of the time to help law enforcement to locate criminals, find dead bodies, locate bombs, and sniff out drugs. One more thing they have learned to sniff out that is useful for homeowners is mold.

Mold has become a very serious issue for homeowners these days. What with people seemingly becoming more sensitive to certain things that cause allergies, mold is ranking somewhere near the top of the list. It can take root in a home or other building and spread everywhere in a short amount of time. Once it has taken root, it can cause incredible damage.

Mold must be removed when it is found in a home and that can be very costly. One reason this is true is because mold does not always grow in places out in the open in a home where it can be seen. It can take hold behind walls, under floors, in attics, and in basements. It can be hard to know exactly where it is without tearing out walls and other places.

It can be a big mistake to think you have mold growing somewhere like behind a wall, have it torn out, and then discover you or the company you hired to find it was wrong. It is just as bad to find mold in one place and then miss finding it in another. It is important to find and kill all the mold in a home or building or the problem and the danger it poses will continue.

A mold sniffing dog can save you money by finding everywhere mold is growing without having to tear out things unnecessarily. You will not miss any places that does have mold. Using a dog to find mold can make the process a lot faster and more thorough. It can also be cheaper because the process is easier. If you believe you have mold and you want to be sure, locate a company that uses dogs to sniff it out. If there is anything nose in the business that you can probably trust to let you know for sure if and where you have mold, it will likely be the method that has been used for hundred of years. A dog with a good nose is a very reliable thing.
