Knowing how to get the most out of your day is something that can make you a much happier person each week and will actually make you the most productive that you can be as well. While many people know that a good night's sleep is vital to being productive each day, many do not think about the fact that they need to spend their off hours doing as many non-stressful things as possible to have a more balanced and complete life. It may sound cliché, but life is short and too precious to be spending it worried and stressed. The work that you do at your job is important, of course, but you should always keep in mind that you need to balance that with "me time". Taking some "me time" will make each day feel more complete. Do not keep piling tasks onto your to-do list thinking that you are being productive because, in reality, you are only doing yourself harm by not taking a break for a couple of hours each day. If you get the urge to do something during your down time, by all means don't ignore it and take a walk outside or read a book to put your mind at ease for a little while. You also do not want to spend too much time at your computer if you don't have to. It is better to spend only about 30 minutes per day on the computer when you are not at work. You can use the internet to find fun things for you and your family to do, but it is very easy to overdo it, so try to avoid that as much as you can. There are many things you can do that do not involve a computer. For example, invite your friends over to play a board game, arrange a casual dinner party, explore your neighborhood by bike, volunteer somewhere, write a letter, cook a nice meal, sort through an old baseball card collection, visit a museum or landmark, get to know your neighbors... Whatever you do, make sure to have fun when you are not at work. Spend some time with your family or friends and do all of the things that make you happy. You will want to make sure that you don't get to that point that so many people get to where you feel like all of your weekdays are for work only, and the only time that you can relax is on the weekend. You will see that once you fill your non-work hours with events that please you, your entire life will start to feel whole again like when you were a child. There is nothing better than that.
