The Damage Water Can Do To Wooden Furniture

By Aydan Corkern

Do you know what water damage can do to your furniture? It can break it down, make it fall apart, stain it, cause mold to grow on it or in it, strip it of its color, cause it to become unleveled and wobbly, and it can peel off the color or the cover of it. Water damage can come from a flood, water spills, leaks, moisture, and any other ways. This is how your stuff gets ruined, broken, and unusable. It's just the facts, and it happens everyday.

When it breaks down, it makes it weak, warped, makes the wood expand and ruins the surfaces, and makes it bumpy and rough. It will start to bow, which makes it unsafe to have in your home because things can fall off of it, make things fall on you, and it can make it unstable. When it becomes weak, you will start to see a change in its form. For example, if you put a glass on the table and the bottom is wet, you will start to get a ring on the surface of it. This means that it is starting to do damage to it, and it can ruin it. It will take the color out of it and make it look old and when it becomes weak, it becomes unleveled and wobbly as well.

When it makes it fall apart, you need to get it out of your house because it is dangerous and someone can get hurt from it. It can fall apart piece by piece and the wood can get in your carpets or on your floors, especially pressed wood. Water damage does a lot of damage to your things and you will have to throw it away. It can make the nail come out of the wood, make the boards separate, and you can't nail it back together because the boards will be too damaged. If you try to nail it back together, the wood can split, and if you try to glue the wood it will get undone. Because, as we all know, glue is to be put on dry surfaces for it to work or stick.

When water gets on the fabric of your furniture, it stains it and makes it look nasty, and you will have to get it cleaned with some fabric cleaner and make sure it will not ruin the fabric. The stains can depend on the color. Some stains can be white, black, or even a brown color and you will have to scrub it really well just to get it out. When you dry it, make sure you dry it well because it can cause mold to grow inside of it and it can be very hazardous to you.
