I am not a fan of Russia, but I do enjoy going there every few years or so. I like to observe its fascinating history and special culture. I like to observe how this country is getting up from its knees from bullying by the west. One of the most inconvenient things about my previous trips was getting Russian train tickets. I have recently stumbled upon a great new way to get tickets on Russian trains and want to share it with you.
One of the best ways to visit Russia is via train. An interwoven web of rails connects hundreds of regions allowing a traveler to reach some of the most distant places places. Russian train travel is not just convenient but also affordable. You can reach most of locations with an overnight train and you can purchase train tickets in the web.
Until lately, this has not been possible. Until recently, you could only buy tickets on Russian trains on a train station or at a travel agency, which means that you pay more and required a paper ticket to be delivered by mail. Luckily, this is no longer the case and you can now order Russia train travel online, easily and conveniently using your credit card. I personally found this great website very handy. Couple years ago, I visited St Petersburg and then a couple of days in Novgorod. That time I had to spend three hours waiting in a line on a train station. For ticket to Novgorod I used a help of ticket agency and had to pay fifty dollars on top of the ticket's price for paper ticket. When I returned to Russia last summer I stumbled on this website on the web that allows you to purchase. That was such a good news. I actually purchased a train ticket and I cannot express how convenient it has been. I showed up at the train station with a print out, got my boarding pass and got on the train. I have been across the globe and one of the best trips that I saw was a trip to Moscow and St Petersburg. Both of these Russian cultural capitals, Russia's great cities seem to have a very special soul - different from any other place. I have a lot for people who live in Moscow or St Petersburg as they have so much a stone's throw away.
Nonetheless, I don't regret paying couple thousand dollars to see Russia. To me, being on a Russian train that carries you from across the largest country in the world is so much more than going to the Dominican Republic for a vacation. In fact, my journey of a lifetime was when I went to Russia when I and my wife traveled on a train in Russia. I recommend travel to Russia. It's like no other.
