Being Bald and Trendy

By Benedict Smythe

Dealing with hair loss can be quite difficult for most people. It can be frustrating for them because they have tried different products and techniques over the years to compensate for their receding hairlines. Some have even gone through some tough emotional phases because of it. The thing is, being bald or skin headed can be considerably trendy nowadays.

The “no hair” way

There have been a lot of famous people that have sported a hairless heard, and have been able to make it quite trendy. One famous person that had a receding hair line has been an inspiration and considered to be the greatest playwright ever. This person is none other than William Shakespeare.

During the 90s, the show E.R. had been on of the more successful drama shows on television. It was the show that boosted actor George Clooney to fame. One of its lead actors was a bald actor by the name of Anthony Edwards. He also starred in films such as Top Gun and Revenge of the Nerds.

The bouncer turned actor Vin Diesel is another famous guy that has made the bald look cool and trendy. He starred in films such as Fast and the Furious, XXX, and Pitch Black.

There are a lot more famous people that have had a lack of hair but even seemed proud of it. They would have this sort of “leader of men” aura to them, and they would walk with their heads (in this case, bald heads) up high.

Dealing with alopecia

Alopecia (also called spot baldness) is a condition that generates hair loss in humans (usually male) and would leave bald spots all over the scalp. There is no known cure for this but roughly around 50% of patients would slowly grow their hair back in about a year.

People with this condition would deal with it in a number of different ways. There are those that would look for hair growth products that are available in pharmacies, health stores, and supplement shops. Some work, while others really serve no purpose. These products come in the form of creams, oils, gels, and even pills.

There are people that would choose to deal with it in an alternative way. What they would do is to shave their entire head and go on with life with a strong bald head. Some would even grown facial hair such as goatees, mustaches, soul patches, and sideburns. They’d try different looks depending on their mood using a combination of facial hair styles. Another way to go about it is to use head gear. These could be hats, caps, skull caps, beanies, or berets. The good thing about it is that a lot of these products can be found and there is a wide selection of them. Different styles, colors, and materials are there to choose from.

So whatever course of action you choose to take if you are faced with a challenge from the hair gods, it is important to keep in mind that it doesn’t really matter whether you have a full head of hair or not. It is in the way you carry yourself and the attitude you have towards it.
