Since larger amounts of washing solution is required for restorative cleaning to flush out the dirt from the carpet, the tanks that hold clean solution and collect dirty solution should have sufficient capacity to do the job.

While a carpet extractor does a thorough job by doing restorative cleaning, the carpet gets fully wet by the time the job is done. As a result, the time required for the carpet to dry out after restorative cleaning will be comparatively high and users or residents may be put to some inconvenience, waiting for the carpet to dry before placing their feet or any objects on it. Though most carpet extractors have a good three-stage vacuum for extracting the liquid out of the carpet, it will still take some time for the carpet to be fully dry.
